I remember the day clearly. Zainu Jacobs, a Fintech/Payments Product Marketer, reached out to me about a property in Cape Town that was in need of ‘restorative’ touch.
Little did I know that when they said “restorative,” they actually meant resurrecting it from the dead!
Yep, we’re talking about the legendary Rondebosch, Lover’s Lane burnt-down house, a real charred beauty!
It was completely in ruins, a shell of its former self, with no ceiling, barely any walls, and trees growing out of what is now the kitchen and lounge.
But where others saw a ruin, we saw potential. We saw a Phoenix House waiting to rise from the ashes.
