GAP Retail Store Interior Design

Dandy Lion Interior Experiences was selected to design a GAP retail store interior, bringing the iconic American fashion brand’s signature aesthetic to life in the South African market. The project required faithful adherence to GAP’s global design standards while adapting the concept to local retail conditions and customer expectations.

The design centres on GAP’s hallmark clean, democratic aesthetic: white walls, blonde timber fixtures, navy blue accents and an open, navigable floor plan. Our team worked closely with the brand’s international guidelines to ensure every element, from fixture profiles and signage placement to lighting colour temperatures, met exacting global standards while optimising the available retail footprint.

Particular attention was paid to the customer journey from storefront to fitting rooms. Clear sightlines across the store make navigation intuitive, while lifestyle graphics and curated mannequin displays create visual anchors that tell each seasonal collection story. The fitting room area was elevated beyond the norm with full-length mirrors, flattering lighting and generous proportions.
